Things to be grateful for....

I've been thinking a lot the past couple of days. It's easy to get wrapped up in the day-to-day stressful things that go on in my life. Like being unemployed and worried about money and worried about whether I'm doing right or wrong by Gabriel.

But when I start thinking about how blessed I am, it truly brings tears to my eyes. For the first time in a loooong time I can honestly say I'm happy. Yes, stressed a little mostly about money, but I'm happy.

First, I have a beautiful healthy loving almost 3 year old son who brings joy to my life everyday. Whether it's a quirky smile or an eskimo kiss, watching him learn something new, or him asking me if he could watch Johnny Cash, he makes living life in this hard world worth it.

Second, I have the most amazing family, most notably my parents and my sisters. It is because of them that I can say I have a house to call my own. It wouldn't have been possible without them. They have always proven how much they love us. Day after day, I thank the Lord that I have the parents I do. They have been a great example of who I want to be.

Third, I have the best friends I would ever have wished for. Especially my group of ladies, the September 05 mommas, who I owe my life to. They are truly like my extended family and I'm so grateful that I found them almost 4 years ago, when I found out I was going to be a momma. We've laughed together and cried together. We may have met on the internet, but they are more a part of my real life than some of my own family... They ARE my family and I love them.
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Fourth, a new boy :) It's something that is still in it's infancy, but I'm so excited about. His name is Pedro and I've known him since highschool... He's a great guy who's cute, very sweet and caring, thoughtful and a lot of fun to be around. He's a hard worker and is genuinely a good man. I enjoy spending time with him and excited about him...

I guess I just have to stop every once in a while to be thankful for all the things that make me happy and count my blessings. I have my health (sometimes), and the most wonderful people in my life. What more could I ask for? I'd say I am pretty damn lucky.

Thank you for Being a Friend!

A few weeks ago I went to Chicago to meet up with 15 of my closest girlfriends... Our common bond: Our September 2005 babies. With so much more that bonds us now, the women on my message board are truly my best friends. It was a blast. Drinks. Laughs. Drinks. Dancing. Drinks. Good times. :)
To all my momma's: Thank you for being a friend!

Gabriel likes the Dodgers!

Last Wednesday, Gabriel and I went to the Dodger game with my cousins Liz and Jesse, and Liz's honey Danny (Thanks Danny!).
Gabriel had a blast!  He was flirting and clapping and screaming.  He had a Dodger dog and waved his LA flag.  He was great!  I think it's the first time I've gone to a game with him where he was so well behaved the whole time!  I loved it!

The New York Trip

So at the end of March, we took a trip to New York and it was fabulous!  Not nearly long enough for sure but it was great.  Gabriel did wonderfully on the airplane and I believe it saved me a lot of stress because he was in his own seat.  My aunt Quilla went with us too.  We did all the normal sightseeing stuff:  Battery Park, Ground Zero (sad), Went on the Staten Island Ferry because the lines for the harbor tours and the Statue of Liberty were WAAAY long, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Times Square, Central Park, etc.
We stayed at Peetie's mami's house.  I love going there.  Peetie (my BIL)'s family is so awesome and I miss them a lot.  Anyway, here are some pics:
Probably the best part of the trip was seeing Gabriel fall in love.  I met up with my mommy friends that live on the east coast: Michelle, Lysa, Tash, and  Kamelia.
We went to Grimaldi's pizzeria by the Brooklyn bridge.
Michelle was so gracious and picked Gabriel and me up at Tita's house.  Reegan and Gabriel fell in love on the way to the pizzeria.  They giggled the whole way there and were inseparable!
It was love at first sight!
They have a lot in common, but most notably:  their love for Sally (the blue porsche from Cars) and Chicken Nuggets.  Next up....Planning the wedding

Blogging again....

Seems I have neglected this place for quite some time. I'm jumping back on the blogging bandwagon. I haven't decided exactly what do blog here, but for now I'll give a "Hey, I'm back on the blogging map again!"

We have a BOY!

It's a BOY! Luis and I went to the ultrasound today. I left work about 1 pm and I picked him up. My appointment was at 1:45. We went to the Talbert Senior Center at Huntington Beach. They called me in first and she measured the baby. Everything looked really good! He's 14 oz. and my due date moved up to September 12 instead of the 18th. She did say there was some debris in the amniotic fluid, but she checked with the Doctor and I guess everything was okay. So then she called Luis, and we saw the baby moving and kicking. Then she told us It's a BOY! We were very excited. Gabriel will be his name. We celebrated with Wendy's and a pedicure for me. It was a good day. Anyway, here are some belly pics of me during the pregnancy so far. I'm 21 weeks now!
